Even celebrities are feeling the cost of living pinch.

Peter Andre and his family will be staying firmly grounded this half-term with he and wife Dr Emily MacDonagh refusing to fork out for expensive flights.

The couple share two children, Amelia, eight, and Theo, five, while the Mysterious Girl singer is also father to teenagers Junior, 16, and Princess, 13, from his former marriage to Katie Price

Emily, 32, is looking forward to spending quality time with Amelia and Theo during their week off school but the family won’t be packing suitcases and jetting off to a sun-kissed destination.

Like many families no doubt, the Andres have flinched at the sky-high prices of flights and package holidays during the half-term, which seem even more shocking amid the cost of living crisis.

The NHS doctor said: ‘I have this whole week off work which is lovely, but we decided not to go away. As nice as it is going on holiday, it’s a lot of work with all the packing and washing, and flights are so expensive at the moment.’

She added in her latest OK! Magazine column: ‘It also means I can take the kids to the West End to see Pete in Grease – they’re so excited.

‘I recently took Millie and Theo to the New Forest with my mum in her new campervan. She’s kitted it out with everything so it’s like a five-star hotel!’

The family will be under the microscope somewhat soon as Peter, 49, recently confirmed the return of his former reality series

Titled Peter Andre: My Life Andre, the fly-on-the-wall documentary ran from 2009 to 2013 and followed the singer’s everyday life and the lives of his children. It was a sequel to the several popular reality programmes he made alongside his ex-wife Katie.

However, Peter – who is currently starring as DJ Vince Fontaine in the West End revival Grease – explained that the revival series will be different as his ‘kids are older now’.

‘But it’s about doing it slightly differently and the kids are older now,’ he said.

‘Princess is about to do her GCSEs and Junior is starting out in the music industry. So we’ll be able to show the two very different sides of teenage life. Emily’s [MacDonagh] career is evolving too,’ he added to The Sun.

He also confirmed that Emily and Theo will not appear in the series as Emily has always been keen to keep them out of the spotlight, and give them a chance to decide if they want to be in the public eye when they’re a little older.
