Jaime Guillory, who posts under @jaimeguillory on TikTok, shared a video showed how she wanted to incorporate her mum’s 1989 gown into her wedding.
She got the floor-length dress altered into a short version for her wedding rehearsal dinner.
She wrote: “Been wanting to do this since I was a little girl.
“POV you alter your mom’s wedding dress to wear for your wedding rehearsal.”

The heartwarming video has racked up over two million views and people have praised the idea.
The clip shows her mum on her wedding day, before flicking to her own special day.
Jaime and her husband Preston held their wedding rehearsal and ceremony in Laguna Beach, California.
The bride told Insider that groom Preston was “blown away” when he saw the sentimental dress.

She said: “I can’t recall exactly when the idea was planted, but ever since I can remember I wanted to wear it or incorporate it somehow into my big day.”
After she got engaged, one of the first things Jaime did was ask mum Donna where her dress was.

The dress was flown over from Massachusetts, where Donna is originally from, and they worked together closely on it.
Her mum was said to be “overjoyed” and felt it was “beyond special and surreal” to see her wear it.

Jaime added: “We had the slip dress and lace overlay hemmed from floor-length to hit just above my knees, in a high-low fashion. We just made a few adjustments to the slip dress to make sure it fit like a glove, fixed one button on the back that had fallen off, and removed some additional beading that was on the bottom.
“My dad was emotional seeing me in the dress that his wife had worn on their wedding day. It was really sweet.”
For her actual wedding dress she had a simple gown made with silk crepe, thin straps, and a low back.
