Ray Liotta will be commemorated in his New Jersey home town after his death.

The actor, who famously played Henry Hill in Goodfellas, died last week at the age of 67.

It was revealed that he died in his sleep while in the Dominican Republic, where he was filming his upcoming project, Dangerous Waters.

In the wake of the news, it was confirmed that he will be honored by Union Township, the area he was raised in.

City mayor Manuel Figueiredo told TMZ of the plans, explaining that they were currently weighing up options on how to celebrate the Hollywood star’s life.

One option that has reportedly been floated is to rename a local baseball field after the late star, in tribute to his role in Field of Dreams.

Liotta’s fiancé, Jacy Nittolo, recently penned a heartbreaking message about their relationship and her loss on social media.

Alongside a string of sweet photos on Instagram, she wrote: ‘My life these past couple of years have been nothing but truly magical.

‘Ray and I share a deep love that I will cherish in my heart forever. We laughed daily and we were inseparable.

‘The chemistry was wild in the best way. He was everything in the world to me and we couldn’t get enough of each other. The kind of real love that one dreams of.

‘He was the most beautiful person inside and out that I’ve ever known…and even that is an understatement.’

Liotta and Nittolo were initially set up thanks to his daughter, Karsen, who said they would be a perfect match.

They announced their engagement in 2020, but did not tie the knot.
