Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has envisioned how he would react if his son Eric was bullied, and it seems he can’t fathom the thought.

On Thursday’s live show of the ITV competition, the fourth semi-final of the week, dance group Five Star Boys were the second act to take to the stage after pantomime dames Dame Nation ahead of Sunday’s final.

Five Star Boys wowed the judges and public alike during their first audition, when they explained that they went on the show ‘to spread the word for boys who can dance’, while admitting that ‘it’s not always easy for us’.

Tonight, they continued to spread that same positive message, performing a beautiful routine to This Is Me from the Hugh Jackman film The Greatest Showman.

After their performance – which left a couple of the boys in tears – judge David Walliams told them how much he wished he’d seen a group like them when he was 11 years old.

‘This goes beyond dance into a beautiful, positive message into how the world should be,’ the children’s author remarked.

Speaking about the message of the group to combat bullying, Simon remarked: ‘If anyone bullied my son… wow,’ pausing as the audience cheered.

‘Seriously, we all feel the same way. For me, it’s one of the most cruel things ever,’ he added.

The media mogul also said that while in his opinion, their first audition would have been ranked a nine out of 10, their semi-final performance would be a 99.

‘Seeing how much it meant to you at the end after your performance made it more special. You should be very proud,’ he told the youngsters.

Tonight, Five Star Boys are vying for a place in the final of the competition, which will take place on Sunday.

If they get through the semi-final, they’ll join acts including singer Tom Ball and comedian Eva Abley.

The other finalists hoping to secure the victory also include busker Maxwell Thorpe, ventriloquist Jamie Leahey, impressionist Ben Nickless and music duo Flintz & T4ylor.

Britain’s Got Talent returns tomorrow at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
