It’s not just the nation desperately awaiting the Love Island launch on Monday, as it turns out the ITV dating reality show has a surprising fan from across the pond.

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens can’t wait for the show to launch, as the newest batch of sexy singletons settle into the villa in the hope of coupling up and finally finding their type on paper.

The MTV Movie and TV awards host revealed that she’s ‘hooked’ on Love Island and will definitely be ‘tuning in’ to watch the new series, which stars footballer Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma, and the first ever contestant with a cochlear implant, Tasha Ghouri.

Just like the rest of us, Vanessa revealed she loves watching the reality show get ‘messy along the way.’

Ahead of this year’s MTV Movie and TV awards, taking place on Sunday in California, Vanessa told PA news agency about her personal TV favourites, and popular dating programme was of course on the list.

‘Love Island really had me hooked so I was there every single step of the way,’ she shared.

‘It’s just really interesting to see how people process things and how people identify love.

‘I’m definitely tuning in [on Monday]. I’m still here for it.

‘I want to watch everyone find love and watch it get messy along the way.’

Vanessa’s not the only celeb who loves watching the drama, as only last year England ace Jack Grealish admitted he’s a ‘big fan’ too.

The Euro 2020 star, who was signed to Manchester City for a record-breaking fee of £100million, was seen discussing last year’s series in a teaser clip of Inside City, the ultimate behind-the-scenes look at life inside an English Premier League Club.

‘You’ve got your little Love Island cup there haven’t ya?’ Jack said to an unidentified woman, who was stood out of shot of the camera.

‘I mean, I don’t watch Love Island, so…,’ the woman replied, prompting Jack to declare: ‘Hey, I’m a big fan.’

As well as Jack and Vanessa, the A-list line up of Love Island fans includes Margot Robbie, Amy Schumer, Millie Bobby Brown and even Richard Curtis.

In fact, Margot is such a fan that she even based the theme of her 31st birthday party on the ITV show last year.

The Wolf of Wall Street actress and her friends posed for pictures shared to social media in an array of colourful bikinis and swimming costumes, with her pal tagging the location of the picture as Casa Amor.

Despite having been an avid viewer for years, the Suicide Squad actress admitted last year that she struggled to get too into it.

While being interviewed alongside her Suicide Squad co-star Idris Elba, Margot said on Lorraine that she ‘adores Love Island so much’, a love that she shares with the writer and director of the DC film, James Gunn.

‘He’s also a huge Love Island fan and we would talk about it all the time. We probably spoke about Love Island more than we spoke about this film when we were on set, we had our drink bottles on set,’ she said.

‘The current season, I haven’t really gotten into it yet, I’m struggling to get into it this season, but you know, it’s still early days and with the lag time of when you get the episodes in America, so I’m a little behind, but I adore it. I adore the show,’ she added.

Fingers crossed Margot’s more into it this year.

Love Island returns Monday at 9pm on ITV2.
