WWE superstar Butch has been open about the influence Triple H has had on his career and it meant a lot to see him over WrestleMania weekend.
Back in April, The Game made a shock appearance to lay his boots down in the middle of the ring as a symbol of his own retirement which came after he underwent surgery following a cardiac incident last year.
Reflecting on reuniting with Triple H in Dallas, Butch exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘For me, real life takes over.
‘The moments in front of the crowd, I’m happy he got to have that, but it was just nice to have direct conversation with him one to one, and just make sure that everything’s good and see that he’s okay and looks healthy.
‘In those moments, wrestling is the last thing on my mind. It’s just great to see him so healthy and back to work in some respect, however he wants to be involved. Seeing him in that setting – obviously it’s emotional.’
That week was the first time the WWE superstars had to see Triple H after his health battle, and Kevin Owens exclusively told us at the time about a powerful meeting the talent had with the veteran.
He said: ‘Triple H, we hadn’t seen him in so long. Yesterday, we had a talent meeting.
‘He came back after not seeing everybody for a long time and he spoke about everything that he’s been through. The message he had was, “Take the time to enjoy this.”
‘Man, that really resonated, but I’d already tried to frame myself that way for the last little while. It really changes everything, once you change your perspective on things.’

In March, Triple H confirmed his in ring retirement months after he was left fighting for his life following a battle with viral pneumonia and heart failure, which has left him with a defibrillator in his chest.
Speaking to Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take, he said at the time: ‘For me, as far as in-ring, I’m done. I will never wrestle again. I have a defibrillator in my chest, which it’s not a good idea for me zapped on live TV.’
WWE Clash at the Castle comes to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on September 3. Tickets are on sale now through www.ticketmaster.co.uk/wweclash.
