The latest episode of Below Deck Down Under started with an almighty bang as chef Ryan McKeown was sacked by Captain Jason Chambers, just seconds into the program.

The foodie has been struggling in the galley since the charter season first began, leaving guests – and viewers watching from home – underwhelmed with his menu options.

He also tussled with chief stewardess Aesha Scott and talked back to his boss when he tried to offer words of advice, leading to the Captain seeking out a replacement.

Shortly after giving stew Magda Ziomek her marching orders, he approached the chef for a tense chat.

‘Listen mate, we’ve tried to get to a point where we can actually get the service [up] and so we’ve had to let Mags go,’ he began, via WhatToWatch. ‘And the food, we’ve tried to get that wow factor going but with the guests’ feedback… I’m gonna have to let you go, mate.’

Ryan issued a sarcastic reply, to which he was told: ‘We’re moving on and we wish you the best.’

Of course, he wasn’t going to leave that easily, and kicked up a fuss when it came to packing up his belongings.

‘Captain’s a f**king vagina,’ he yelled. ‘He’s the only f**king critic on the f**king boat.’

Ryan might want to avoid watching re-runs and seeing that the guests also criticized his offerings.

The Captain heard his gripes and issued him with a firm warning, telling him: ‘Ryan, if you can’t leave with grace, I’m gonna put a time limit on you [to pack]. 25 minutes max.

‘Don’t start with me… what you’re showing now is your backstabbing attitude.’

Fans were living for the scenes and flocked to social media to discuss the dramatic falling out.

‘Aesha’s face when Ryan is getting fired is all of us! Pure JOY!!! #BelowDeck #BelowDeckDownUnder,’ a viewer said.

Another agreed: ‘Ryan is truly in la la land if he thinks the guests were always happy with his food #BelowDeckDownUnder.’

After some issues on board, Captain Jason set about making changes in last week’s episode, pulling Benny Crawley aside to have a chat about his performance.

He gave the deckhand another chance to remain in the crew, but told Magda that she would be leaving, after Aesha voiced her concerns for the stew.

‘We run with three stewardesses on a big boat. Unfortunately, your experience is not where I want the three girls to be at,’ he told her.

‘I really enjoy working with you as a crew member. But going through for the next two charters, I really need this team to fire.

‘So I’m going to let you go. It’s sad news, but that’s where we’re at.’

Magda vowed that she had been improving with her work, but was told: ‘It’s improving, but not at the pace that I want.

‘And I need people at Tumi and Aesha’s level.’

With a few charters left on the calendar, will anyone else get thrown overboard?
