Britain’s Got Talent fans have expressed their utter devastation after dance crew IMD Legion failed to make it through to the final, despite appearing as though they were a clear fan-favourite.
During tonight’s semi-final, comedian Axel Blake and environmentalist Aneeshwar Kunchala became the last two acts to join the final line-up, after the former won the public vote.
Welsh singing collective Welsh of the West End also made it to the top three, but weren’t chosen by judges David Walliams, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell to be saved.
While many viewers were delighted by the acts that proceeded to the next stage of the competition, several shared how upset they were that IMD Legion were not among them, despite earning huge cheers of support in the auditorium following their spell-binding performance.
Some admitted that they didn’t predict that the group would miss out on the final, with others hoping they’ll be announced as the wildcard act given special allowance to compete.
‘IMD LEGION WENT HOME? Wow I did not see that one coming,’ one person tweeted.
‘So gutted @IMDLegion didn’t reach the final they were amazing,’ someone else said.
Another wrote: ‘Nah fuming at the fact @IMDLegion didn’t get thru to the final, they deserved that more than anyone else.’
Someone else claimed that they were ‘robbed’, while another quipped: ‘This is a fix surely.’
There is still a chance that IMD Legion could be in the final and compete for a spot at the Royal Variety Performance if selected by the judges as a wildcard act.
Fans will just have to wait and see who their final choice turns out to be!
Tonight’s semi-final was eventful to say the least, with Simon issuing a public apology to a performer who he upset after giving his critique to illusionists Matricks Illusion.
‘You know, going back to the very first act… I didn’t realise I really upset someone, I just apologised to her, called Lamorna, and I feel really awful,’ he said, clearly feeling extremely remorseful by how he made the young girl feel.

At another point in the evening, he proved that he also has talent, delivering his best Sir David Attenborough impression, much to everyone’s surprise.
Meanwhile, Amanda made quite the entrance at the start of the show, donning an extravagant Union Jack gown in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
