Gordon Ramsay has made a light-hearted remark about his daughter Holly Ramsay going on Love Island… and imagine if there turns out to be more to the joke than meets the eye!

On Monday the ITV series returns for its 2022 season, introducing viewers across the nation to new islanders including Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma Owen, paramedic Paige Thorne and fishmonger Luca Bish.

Last year, Holly, 22, shut down rumours that she was jetting off to find romance in the villa, saying at the time ‘I’m definitely not appearing on Love Island’.

However, her famous chef dad Gordon might have just inadvertently added fuel to future speculation once more, after she posted a couple of sun-soaked bikini pictures in the pool.

Holly – who is is signed to EST Models and whose sister Tilly Ramsay competed on Strictly Come Dancing last year – posted photos of herself leaning on the side of the pool, wearing a colourful, floral patterned two-piece.

‘Pool party for 1,’ she wrote in the caption, as Gordon commented: ‘I thought you were off to Love Island ? @hollyramsayy ❤️.’

Meanwhile, Holly responded to her dad: ‘Get back to the dance floor please.’

Tilly was among those showering Holly with compliments over her pictures, with Elizabeth Hurley’s son, Damian Hurley, also joining in the chorus by commenting with exploding head, heart and fire emojis.

While Holly might not actually be going on Love Island – as far as we’re aware, considering new bombshells will join the cast later in the series – former England footballer Michael’s daughter Gemma is.

The dressage rider will be joined by hopeful singletons including microbiologist Dami Hope, real estate agent Andrew Le Page and dancer Tasha Ghouri.

Michael, who played for teams including Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City throughout his career, recently admitted Gemma going into the villa is his ‘worst nightmare’.

Speaking to ITV News, Michael shared: ‘I have no doubts that she will make us all proud.

‘It’s probably a father’s worst nightmare, but whatever she wants to do
you’ve got to be supportive.’

He added that ‘old, grumpy men like me will always have an opinion on it because I don’t watch it and you just hear the snippets, but she assures me that it’s not as bad as I think.

‘So, we’ll give it a watch and I hope she enjoys herself.’

Love Island returns on Monday June 6 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
