Love Island 2022 contestant Paige Thorne has already got her priorities straight, vowing to return to work as a paramedic after the show.
The 24-year-old insisted it’s the only thing she can imagine doing as a job and will ‘definitely’ return after her stint on the show, despite the majority of the other islanders carving out careers as influencers.
‘I’ll 100% go back to being a paramedic, it sounds cliche and stuff but it is who I am. I’m a people’s person, I love the elderly, and I couldn’t think of not doing that as my career and my job,’ she told Metro.co.uk and other press.
‘So I’m definitely going back.’
Paige hasn’t had much luck dating in her hometown of Swansea, but it turns out she’s looking for something quite, erm, unique, pointing to 365 Days protagonist Massimo Torreicelli as the kind of guy she’s after.
Asked what she’s looking for in a man, Paige asked: ‘You guys have seen 365 Days, right, with Massimo?’

‘Yeah, I’m looking for a bit of a Massimo, but maybe without the murdering! Just the dominating side.’
‘I’m sure I can take him,’ she laughed.
No pressure lads.
For the uninitiated, erotic thriller 365 Days follows Massimo (Michele Morrone) who kidnaps and imprisons Laura Biel (Anna-Maria Sieklucka) and gives her a period of 365 Days to fall in love with him.

Asked what’s wrong with the guys in Swansea, Paige joked: ‘What’s right with them?!’
‘No, I’m just joking, that’s harsh, that was a bit unfair. They’re not all the same. Swansea’s so small that everyone knows each other and everyone’s in each other’s business and stuff. It’s just not the vibe.’
Despite seeming pretty confident, Paige admitted she’s got plenty of nerves ahead of making her way into the villa.
More: Love Island
‘The thing I’m most nervous about is what if I go in and I’m not anyone’s type or I just get friend-zoned the whole time, and rather than it be Love Island, I’m on Friend Island thing,’ she reflected. ‘I don’t wanna be in that situation.’
As for her friends and family’s reaction, she admitted her dad has his ‘reservations’ and that she’s vowed not to do anything to ’embarrass him’.
Love Island returns on Monday June 6 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
