Jeff Hardy has no recollection of his match at AEW Double Or Nothing after suffering an injury during the bout.

The WWE legend teamed up with his brother Matt Hardy to beat The Young Bucks last weekend but Jeff was ‘knocked loopy’ early on and doesn’t remember anything after the incident.

Matt revealed his daredevil sibling was ‘almost knocked out’ during the match on May 29, and the injury resulted in him being pulled from Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite just days later.

‘I was happy with the match, especially considering very early on in the match Jeff was almost knocked out,’ Matt said on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast. ‘So he got hurt pretty bad.

‘That’s why he’s being pulled from the match in Los Angeles, obviously. So he was kind of running on fumes going through the match. So he still held up his end of the bargain pretty good in the big scheme of things.’

The idea of the Hardys facing off with the Bucks – Matt and Nick Jackson – in an AEW ring was a dream for many fans, but Jeff doesn’t have any memory of the action after knocking his head.

‘We have a couple of ideas, but we’re not sure [where Jeff got hurt]. He has no recollection. Like he doesn’t remember the match at all after that happened. So thank god The Young Bucks are The Young Bucks and I’m me,’ Matt added.

‘He was literally just a vessel being given directions throughout this match to kind of do what he was supposed to do. So considering he really got knocked loopy terribly at some point earlier in the match, he still did pretty good to go through and do everything he did.’

Matt praised his brother for still being ‘so good at what he does’, and he was impressed by Jeff battling through the injury and finishing the match.

‘It’s so funny that he’s just still such a great athlete and so good at what he does. If you look at the Swanton he does on the stairs, he still does it like perfectly,’ he added. And he didn’t realize he was supposed to do it until he was told he was supposed to do it.’

Meanwhile, Jeff previously admitted he was ‘terrified’ when brother Matt took a sickening fall from a ladder and banged his head straight onto concrete during an AEW match against Sammy Guevara in 2020.

Recalling watching the show from home, Jeff exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘Terrifying! When he tried to get up and then he fell down – when you hit your head hard, that’s scary stuff… That was scary, man, with Matt – flesh on concrete, it was scary when he couldn’t walk. Gosh, man – thank God he’s OK, but that’s part of the game.’
