Shay Mitchell has confirmed she’s welcomed a baby daughter, who she’s named after her late grandmother.
The Pretty Little Liars star, 35, revealed the happy news that she’d welcomed her new arrival on Instagram, with a sweet photo of herself clutching the tot to her chest, and wearing a necklace of the little one’s name – Rome.
She wrote: ‘Losing the most important person in my life in the same year I welcomed my second daughter has shifted everything for me, but one thing remains steady in my soul — I’m certain they spent time together and that brings me peace and joy.
‘We’re so happy you’re here Rome, named after my best friend, my soulmate, my “person,” my Grandma Romaine. ❤️.’
Fans and friends are thrilled for her, with her Pretty Little Liars co-star Tyler Blackburn writing: ‘This is so beautiful Shay. Congratulations. ❤️’.
Writer Marlene King added: ‘All the love in the world. Congratulations 💖💖💖’.
Shay is already a mother to two-year-old daughter Atlas with partner Matte Babel.
She announced the exciting news of her pregnancy in February, saying that she believes the baby is part of the ‘universe’s plan’ to bring joy to her life after the death of her grandmother.

The Dollface actress had previously shared that she’d lost her grandmother, who she affectionately referred to as Gram.
Making her pregnancy public, she wrote: ‘Saying goodbye to a loved one while simultaneously experiencing the joy of welcoming another into this world is the great cycle of life. It is also my most challenging season to date.
‘I can’t help but think this was the universe’s plan all along, knowing I would need otherworldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life.
