Love Island’s Luca Bish is already making waves on the ITV2 dating show.

The Brighton-born fishmonger is garnering attention for his unusual tattoos, favourite sex position (the Viennese oyster), and past relationship with Strictly’s Saffron Barker.

Now, people are (understandably) curious about his unexpected connection to former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer.

Patsy, 50, is now quite famously off in California living the boho Malibu lifestyle, having given up Albert Square some time ago – so how on earth does she know Luca?

How does Patsy Palmer know Love Island’s Luca Bish?

It all started when Patsy took to Instagram to throw her support behind 23-year-old Luca.

Just before he made his way into Majorca’s most famous (but pretty secretive) villa, she took to Instagram Stories to share his official promo photo, alongside a positive message.

She penned: ‘Omg @lucabish all grown up and going on @loveisland. We cannot wait to watch you.

‘You will smash it so beautiful, kind & funny. Yay from your Malibu crew.’

Patsy then added a couple of pink heart emojis, and appeared to tag a private account belonging to a Maria Bish.

Notably, Patsy commented on how ‘grown up’ Luca looked, suggesting she perhaps knew him as a youngster – and implied that her family would also be watching him on TV.

Indeed, Luca revealed in a chat with the press that Patsy is actually a friend of his family.

He said: ‘She’s just a really close family friend. Obviously, she’s in Malibu now so not as close but she’s a very close family friend. My parents are always calling her back and forth.’

Mystery solved!
