Ric Flair wants to face WWE boss Vince McMahon one more time on the eve of his last ever match.
The Nature Boy and his former boss haven’t wrestled each other since 2008 – while they faced off on three separate occasions six years earlier – but now Flair wants to run it back at SummerSlam in Nashville before his latest retirement.
Speaking on his To Be A Man podcast, the Hall of Famer said: ‘I’m gonna text Vince today and say, ‘I think you and I should have one last encounter at SummerSlam… we deserve it… before I retire the next day”.
‘Vince McMahon against Ric Flair… I’ll take the bumps, Vince just punches me, I’ll take a blade. The crowd will go crazy! I’ll fall on my face. How easy is that?’
SummerSlam is set for July 30, with Flair’s Last Match being hosted as a Jim Crockett Promotions event the following night.
As it stands, there’s no opponent set for the event, while an appearance on WWE’s stadium show seems unlikely even after Vince’s surprise return at WrestleMania 38.

Flair requested and was granted his release from the company in August 2021, with the company going on to remove him from their TV’s opening videos following the Dark Side of The Ring’s episode on the Plane Ride From Hell.
Back in 2002, Ric and Vince faced off three times, with the first coming in a Street Fight at the Royal Rumble, while they would also face off in tag team action alongside Triple H and Kurt Angle respectively, as well as a No Holds Barred singles match.
They then clashed again on Raw in 2008 as part of Flair’s final run where he had to keep winning to save his career.

Flair’s final WWE match came that year against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24, while he hasn’t wrestled at all since facing Sting in IMPACT Wrestling 11 years ago.
Flair has made no secret of his desire to get back in the ring, and last year he insisted he could ‘absolutely’ lace up his boots again, but claimed WWE wouldn’t let that happen.
‘That talk hasn’t happened, but could I do it? Absolutely,’ he said on his Wooo Nation Uncensored podcast at the time. ‘I’m in better shape now than I was when Sting and I wrestled the last match on Nitro [in 2001]. WWE won’t let me do anything, even though I’m released.’
