Love Island’s latest bombshell is certainly going to ruffle some feathers in Sunday’s episode, and we can’t wait to tune in.

In Friday’s recoupling, most pairings stayed the same, but Davide Sanclimenti and Gemma Owen both ended up in new pairings, with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Luca Bish respectively.

This meant both Paige Thorne and Afia Tonkmor were left single but were allowed to remain in the villa after Liam’s departure.

But what the islanders didn’t know at that point, was a new boy was about to be sent in to stir things up, who already knows someone very well indeed.

While narrator Iain Stirling didn’t reveal the name of the latest bombshell, viewers could see his entrance, and hear Gemma reveal: ‘Oh my God, that’s my ex-boyfriend.’

Jacques, who hails from Cumbria, works as a professional rugby league player.

After Friday’s bombshell, viewers are curious to know whether spark will fly between him and ex-girlfriend Gemma, or whether he’ll take an interest in someone else.

Speaking ahead of his entrance, he said: ‘I split up with my ex and then I was seeing someone else.

‘I was concentrating so much on my rugby and then I had that injury. I think it needs to be the right person, at the right time. ‘

Summing up his dating history in one word, the sportsman simply replied ‘steady.’

Jacques is 23, the same age as Indiyah Polack, Ikenna Ekwonna, Tasha Ghouri, and Luca Bish.

The youngest islander in the villa is Gemma, the daughter of former professional footballer Michael Owen, who’s 19 years old.

And fans believe that her ex will be the one to finally reveal who her famous dad is.

Earlier in his career, Jacques played junior rugby league for Askam

O’Neill played junior rugby league for Askam ARLFC before being signed to the Castleford Tigers academy, while he’s also played for the Leigh Centurions and Halifax in the Betfred Championship on loan and dual registration.

Shortly before Jacques confirmed on his Instagram that he was going on Love Island, the Castleford Tigers also shared a statement on social media and in a press release.

While the team didn’t mention Love Island specifically, they said: ‘Castleford Tigers can confirm that the Club has agreed to release Jacques O’Neill from his contract to allow him to pursue another opportunity.

‘The Tigers have the first option to sign O’Neill back next year should he wish to return to rugby league.’

Praising Jacques for his ‘fearless attitude’ on the field, they explained how he is a ‘proud product of the Tigers’ youth system having come through both our Scholarship and Academy programmes before making his Super League debut’.

‘Castleford Tigers would like to wish Jacques well with his new opportunity and thank him for his efforts as a Tiger so far,’ they added.
