Chris Harris first found fame when he joined Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff as presenters of Top Gear.

The trio took over the popular BBC show following the departure of Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc – and made a success of it ever since.

And as they take on their third series together, we take a closer look at Chris and his background.

Who is Chris Harris?

Chris, 47, is a motoring journalist, racing driver and presenter, who has written for publications such as Evo and Autocar.

Even more impressively, he has also had an extensive racing career, having won his first race in 2000 in a Formula Palmer Audi.

He’s also taken to the track in vehicles from Porsche, Aston Martin and Renault.

Is Chris Harris married?

Chris is very good at keeping his wife and three children away from his career.

Details of his marriage and family remain unknown as his public life focuses solely on cars.

Chris joined the Top Gear line-up in 2016, the 23rd series of the show, as a recurring presenter when Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc both came on board.

He was promoted to main presenter the following series following Evans’ resignation – and fronted the show alongside LeBlanc and Rory Reid.

When Chris joined the panel with Flintoff and McGuinness, he told Metro.co.uk: ‘I don’t feel that pressure at all, what we’ve got is a clean piece of paper to go and mess around with cars and present a show on the BBC; it’s a great honour.’

Prior to Top Gear, Chris found fame with his YouTube channel Chris Harris on Cars.

Originally created as a series in 2012 on the /DRIVE channel, Chris left the network and set up his own channel in 2014.

Currently he has over 485k subscribers while his videos have been watched millions of times.

Before moving over to the main programme, Chris and Rory hosted the Top Gear spin-off show of, called Extra Gear.

Top Gear is on Sundays on BBC One at 8pm.
