Love Island fans have spotted an interesting clue indicating that the islanders are fully aware who Gemma Owen’s famous dad is.

The international dressage rider – who has not yet revealed her father is former football ace Michael Owen – is currently coupled up with fishmonger Luca Bish, however a spanner was thrown into the works when Gemma ex-boyfriend Jacques O’Neill arrived as a bombshell during Sunday’s episode.

For those who aren’t aware, Gemma’s dad Michael played as a striker for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City, as well as for the England national team.

Although the ‘my dad’s Michael Owen’ bomb hasn’t been dropped yet, eagle-eyed viewers are under the impression Jacques has spilled the tea to everyone in the villa.

‘Jacques defo gonna slip in Michael Owen,’ one person tweeted.

‘Just a thought, how has jacques not spilled the beans on who Gemma’s dad is yet,’ another added.

Meanwhile, Luca – who was initially coupled up with paramedic Paige Thorne – is currently head over heels for Gemma after fans witnessed him attempt to lean in for a kiss during yesterday’s instalment.

In Friday’s episode, Luca asked whether her father would like him, and Gemma replied: ‘You, because you’re sporty, you’re into football, into racing, I think my dad… I feel like you’d have stuff in common.’

‘I talk about football all the time. We’ll see if he knows what he’s talking about,’ Luca responded cheekily, obviously not yet knowing the identity of her dad.

The football references highlighted left fans believing that Luca knows who Gemma’s dad is, with one writing: ‘Luca 1000% knows Gemma’s dad is Michael Owen, he’s too eager.’

Tuesday’s teaser suggested trouble in paradise between Luca and Gemma, after Gemma accidentally calls him Jacques, who is sitting directly next to them.

The mix-up didn’t go unnoticed by the other contestants, with Amber Beckford pointing out: ‘Did you just call him something else?’
