Kit Harington looks set to reprise his role as Jon Snow in a Game of Thrones sequel.

Among the many prequels said to be in the works, this will follow the character who was among the few to survive Game of Thrones, well apart from when he died and came back to life, obvs.

Game of Thrones saw Snow’s journey north of the Wall, returning to be named Warden of the North, before learning that he was in fact descended from the dreaded Targaryen family after sleeping with and falling in love with Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) – his auntie.

Hollywood Reporter claimed Harington is now in talks to come back as Jon Snow, becoming the first star from the original series to be confirmed for a return.

The Game of Thrones legacy was somewhat tarnished following a panned final season, which saw Cersei Lannister (Lena Heady) and her lover and brother Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) perish romantically under a boulder of rocks, and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) become ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.

All in all, it was muddled and flat and missed the magic of the early seasons entirely.

This summer will also see the launch of House of The Dragon, the prequel following the origins of Targaryen family, taking place 200 years before the events of Game Of Thrones.

The 10-episode HBO series stars Matt Smith, as Daemon Targaryen and is based on George R R Martin’s Fire And Blood novel.

House of The Dragon airs on HBO and Sky on August 21.
