Big Brother’s highly-anticipated reboot is reportedly ‘drawing closer’ with ITV bosses in ‘advanced talks’ to bring the iconic series back to the screen.

Presenter Emma Willis fronted the reality programme from 2013 until it finished, while Davina McCall was at the helm originally on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010.

Big Brother aired for the final time in November 2018 after Channel 5 announced that the nineteenth series would be the last.

In April, it was claimed that the show will return for another run in autumn 2023 after Love Island has aired.

However, according to Broadcastnow.co.uk the network are believed to be ‘closing in on a deal’ to take the TV staple ‘back to basics.’

This comes after The Sun reported that the show will move to ITV after previously airing on Channel 5.

The outlet added that moving Big Brother to ITV ‘will open it up to a new audience and legion of younger fans.’

‘They are really keen on getting the deal done on Big Brother, and hope to have something firm to announce soon.

‘The talks are still at an early, and delicate, stage and the next few weeks will be key.’

Producers are said to be ‘confident they are the ones who can return it to its legendary former glory.’

Throughout its 23 series, Big Brother discovered famous talent such as This Morning’s Alison Hammond and BBC1 DJ Adele Roberts.

There are rumours that Celebrity Big Brother winner Rylan Clark is a favourite to host the upcoming reboot over the previous hosts, Emma and Davina.

Twenty years after her time on the show, Alison –who was a housemate back in 2002, in the series eventually won by Kate Lawler – has also thrown her hat in the ring to be considered for the role.

On The Late-ish Show with Mo Gilligan, Alison revealed that she would be interested in the role.

When asked if she would make a good host on the show, she replied: ‘I think so. They need to change it up a bit. We’ve got to put it out there to the universe. Let’s make it happen!’

That’s the spirit Alison.
