We have so many questions already.

**Warning: Stranger Things season 4 spoilers to follow**

Stranger Things is set to bring the Hawkins gang more peril, as teased in the season 4 volume 2 trailer which just dropped – here’s everything we know so far.

Netflix released volume 1 of the fourth instalment last month, following a three-year wait, with volume two now just a few weeks away.

At the end of the first seven episodes, the origins of the new villain Vecna were revealed, as it was discovered that he was in actual fact Number One (Jamie Campbell Bower), aka the predecessor to Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven, who also boasted powerful abilities.

After One (whose real name is Henry Creel) caused a massacre of the other children at Hawkins Lab, Eleven fought against him, causing him to disintegrate and descend into the Upside Down.

He is the now-adult superpowered child that inspired Dr Brenner (Matthew Modine) to create the programme that gave Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) her powers.

The dramatic finale left many other important questions which fans hope will be answered in the next two episodes, which come out in just a matter of days.

So, when is season four, volume two out? And what can we expect from the episodes?

When does Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 come out and how many episodes are there?

There are two final feature-length episodes which will make up volume two, and we’re sure they will certainly be ones to remember.

Creators, the Duffer Brothers, even got an extra episode added to the series in order to cope with the sheer levels of story.

These will both be available for viewers to watch on Netflix from Friday, July 1.

What will happen?

The big question! The latest teaser pictures show Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Dr. Brenner, aka Papa, (Matthew Modine) in the underground lab, while Jonathan, (Charlie Heaton) Mike, (Finn Wolfhard) Will, (Noah Schnapp) and Argyle (Eduardo Franco) continue their journey to Nevada desert to search for Eleven and the NINA Project.

Another still shows Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), Hopper (David Harbour), Murray, (Brett Gelman) and Dmitri (Tom Wlaschiha) attempting to break out of the Russian prison, while Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and the group hold the fort down in Hawkins.

Elsewhere, Producer and writer Matt Duffer assures the show wants to explore ‘darker themes.’ Not only that, but he wants to throw the characters into ‘a full-blown horror,’ which would see them all ‘in jeopardy.’

Dr Brenner features heavily in the trailer (Picture: Netflix)

‘A lot of [the darker tone] was driven by the fact that we had these — I still call them kids, even though I know they’re not kids, but they feel like my kids — is that they were heading into high school. And it felt like the right time to put them into a full-blown horror film,’ Matt told EW.

‘We’re dealing with darker themes, and issues that come along with being a teenager, because for at least Ross and I, and I think for most people, high school is a challenging time. And you’re experiencing a lot of dark emotions for the first time.’

Matt and the Stranger Things team ‘wanted the whole season to feel like everybody is in jeopardy’ but they ‘felt like that was something you couldn’t really do as well when they were these cute little kids.’

‘But now, you know, everybody’s life is on the line.’

That leaves viewers to sweat over the fate of their favourite characters, whether it’s much-loved Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) or newcomer Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), or perhaps Max (Sadie Sink) who only narrowly escaped death in episode four…

While promoting Season 4 on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Noah Schnapp — who plays Will Byers — said that we should be prepared for deaths.

He told fans: ‘You can expect from Volume 2… We got some deaths coming, some gore. And a big bang.’

When the host pressed him on what he meant, he said: ‘Well, I didn’t say who. Well, you guys can assume that obviously, someone’s gonna [die].’

‘Some-one, or some people?’ Jimmy asked, but Noah replied: ‘Well, I’m done here because you’re scaring me!’

We’re pretty scared too, Noah!

Who is in the cast?

The cast should remain pretty unchanged (Picture: Erik Pendzich/REX/Shutterstock)

Unsurprisingly, it’s much the same as volume one, with many of fans’ favourite faces returning to the silver screen.

You can expect to see Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp all reprise their leading roles.

Also returning are Jamie Campbell Bower, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson and Cara Buono.

Newer additions including Booksmart actor Eduardo Franco, Small Axe star Joseph Quinn and Westworld’s Sherman Augustus should all return.

What is the age rating?

We can safely say already that the show is probably not suited to very young viewers.

More: Trending

According to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), all four seasons of the show have been rated 15.

In the BBFC’s own words, a 15 rating means ‘suitable only for 15 years and over’.

Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 launches on Friday, July 1 on Netflix.
