Warning: spoilers ahead for Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 6.

The episode 6 finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi has left fans absolutely floored, boasting moments to make you cry and others to make you beam with joy.

The rematch between Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) and Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) finally took place, with Obi-Wan finally appearing to accept the loss of his dear friend Anakin Skywalker to the Dark Side while doing all in his power to protect his daughter, Princess Leia Organa (Vivien Lyra Blair).

With Liam Neeson making a cameo as Qui-Gon and Reva (Moses Ingram) surviving her duel against Darth Vader, there are several storylines that we would like to see develop further in a possible season 2 – which is yet to be confirmed.

From Obi-Wan meeting Luke to fans desperate to see more flashbacks, here’s how we predict the finale could have set up a second outing.

Qui-Gon Force Ghost teases long journey ahead

When Qui-Gon appears at the end of the episode, Obi-Wan is delighted to see his old Master, having been calling for him to return as a Force Ghost since the start of the series.

Qui-Gon not only tells his former Padawan that he has been there all along, but he also adds an intriguing tease, earning the final line of dialogue of the season as he says: ‘I was always here, Obi-Wan. You just were not ready to see. Come on, we’ve got a ways to go.’

The late Jedi Master fades away as Obi-Wan continues to ride on his Eopie into the desert, with some fans interpreting Qui-Gon’s line to hint towards a second season.

‘I would love a season 2 with Obi-Wan learning from Qui-Gon with some Clone Wars flashbacks,’ one person tweeted, while another wrote: ‘I LOVE SASSY QUI-GON AND I WOULD BE SEATED FOR A SEASON 2 OF JUST OBI-WAN AND HIM.’

Obi-Wan meets Luke for the first time after adventures with Leia

Before Obi-Wan Kenobi launched, the trailers led many to believe that the titular character’s storyline would see him embark on a journey to protect Luke (Grant Feely), now a 10-year-old boy living on Tatooine.

However, it was soon discovered that the narrative was actually centred around Princess Leia Organa, after she was kidnapped in a bid to lead Obi-Wan to Darth Vader.

In the final episode, Obi-Wan is finally granted the opportunity by Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton) to meet Luke face-to-face, after rushing to protect him from Reva.

So could their first encounter mean that the story will switch to focusing on Luke in future?

Reva is still alive and no longer under Darth Vader’s rule

Speaking of Reva, she remains very much at large, despite Darth Vader leaving her for dead after impaling her with his lightsaber.

In episode five, it was revealed that she was on a mission for revenge against Anakin, having been one of the younglings attacked by him during Order 66.

After failing to kill Darth Vader, the former Grand Inquisitor travels to Tatooine to exact revenge on his son Luke instead… but can’t bring herself to do it, resulting in her and Obi-Wan sharing a candid conversation discussing what her future could hold.

Could Reva return to the light side of the Force, or is she too far gone after serving Darth Vader? We’d love to discover more.

Fans desperate for more flashbacks

Hayden’s return as Anakin and Darth Vader was highly anticipated across the fandom, and fans absolutely loved watching the flashback sequence between Anakin and Obi-Wan in episode five, before the former turned to the Dark Side.

There is still plenty of history that could be explored in flashback scenes, particularly Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting alongside one another in the Clone Wars and Anakin’s close bond with Ahsoka, played by Rosario Dawson in live-action.

Hayden’s comeback has hopefully opened the door for more flashbacks to come, and we’re crossing our fingers they could appear in the upcoming Ahsoka series, as well as a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi season two.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is available to watch on Disney Plus.
