Claudia Winkleman is bringing a gameshow like no other to our screens, starting on Channel 4 tonight.

The 50-year-old presenter is inviting guests to answer one question in a bid to win £100,000.

But of course, it can’t be that simple.

The host will ask contestants one general knowledge question, that comes with 20 possible answers – only one of which is correct.

To get their hands on the cash prize, the contestants must choose the correct answer out of the 20 options presented to them.

We can already envision the audience watching at home screaming one of the answers at the television screen, then sighing in frustration when the contestant chooses a different one or yelling in joy if their answers matched.

The questions themselves seem pretty tricky too, ones that we wouldn’t have ever considered answers to before.

In the trailer, Claudia asks questions like ‘What is square?’ and ‘What is happy?’

Described in a voiceover as a ‘nail-biting new quiz show’, Claudia is heard explaining: ‘One solitary question.

‘All our contestants have to do is answer it correctly and they win £100,000.

‘You’ve only got to answer one question. £100k,’ she says to the contestants sitting opposite her.

‘Boof. Bam,’ she says.

She continues: ‘I’m going to give you 20 answers. One of those is correct,’ as contestants are seen shaking with nerves at the prospect of winning the prize.

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia will be hosting the game show for the first time since hosting a quiz or game show since Talking Telephone Numbers in 1997, but has sat in the opposite seat, having previously appeared on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel.

One Question begins tonight at 8pm on Channel 4.
