Love Island recoupling sees Jay Younger steal Paige Thorne and Davide Sanclimenti throw huge curveball by ‘mugging off’ Danica Taylor-Meghna Amin-Entertainment – Metro

It was the boys turn to pick in tonight’s Love Island recoupling, and after hints of turning heads over the last few days, viewers at home were on the edge of their seats as much as the contestants in the villa.

In the last recoupling, bombshell Danica Taylor had stolen Luca Bish from Gemma Owen, while new boy Jay Younger had since made it clear he was interested in getting to know Paige Thorne, hinting there could be another steal.

And he wasted no time in making his move.

Paige had previously been coupled up with Jacques O’Neill, and was actually in tears in last night’s episode after confusion over whether she wanted to get to know Jay more.

Yesterday, a teary-eyed Paige revealed: ‘My mind is still on Jacques,’ and speaking to Tasha, admitted she didn’t want to get to know Jay, and was happy focused on Jacques, despite not expecting him to put all his eggs in her basket just yet.

‘You either have all of my effort or none of it,’ she had said.

The next morning however, the villa seemed calmer, as the islanders reflected on the night before and Paige hinted that maybe she would be open to getting to know Jay.

‘I’d be stupid to cut myself off so early on,’ she said, admitting Jay was her ‘type to a tee’ when he had entered the villa.

Will Paige still stay on team Jacques, or will her head be more turned by Jay?

Meanwhile, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page were on edge as new bombshell Charlie Radnedge had shown he was keen to get to know Tasha better, and potentially split up the fan-favourite couple.

However, Charlie picked Turkish soap star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, delivering no curveballs, unlike Davide Sanclimenti, who, according to viewers, ‘mugged off’ Danica when he picked new girl Antigoni Buxton, despite planting a kiss on Danica only yesterday.

The snog came well and truly out of the blue, and even Danica was shocked after Italian stallion Davide went in for a rather intense kiss, unsure of quite what to say afterwards.

Danica had not yet formed a close bond with any of the other boys in the villa, but both her and Davide expressed a flirtatious interest in getting to know one another.

However, all that seemed to change tonight, after Davide picked Antigoni, and fans were not impressed.

‘I feel so sorry for Danica,’ one person wrote, continuing: ‘She didn’t get a warm welcome from the lads or the girls, Davide kissed her yesterday, and now mugged her off for no reason. Love Island has done this girl dirty.’

Another person wrote: ‘Davide mugged off Danica but no one is side eyeing him for ‘from moving flower to flower’ mmmmm.’

A third added: ‘Davide literally said Antigoni’s not even his type so why? Especially after kissing Danica unprovoked?’

While Davide may have mugged off Danica, and Jay stole Paige from Jacques, only a couple of weeks into this year’s Love Island, we’re sure there’ll be plenty more drama to come.
