Folk
Folk returns to Hampstead Theatre (Picture: Hampstead Theatre)
Following a sold-out run earlier this year and an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement, Folk, written by Neil Leyshon and starring Ben Allen and Sasha Frost, returns to Hampstead Theatre.
Set in 1903 in Somerset, it tells the story of Cecil, a composer from London, and his relationship with local girl Louie as he attempts to write down all of the 300 regional folk songs she knows before they are forgotten forever.

Bilal Zafar brings his upcoming Edinburgh Fringe show to the Underbelly Festival
Award-winning comedian Bilal Zafar previews his new Edinburgh Fringe show Care – about how, fresh from leaving university with a media degree, he found himself with too much responsibility as an employee in a care home for very wealthy people.

Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish is raising funds for environmental issues through her tour
Multi Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Billie Eilish wraps up her run at The O2 this weekend performing material from her latest hit album Happier Than Ever, with support from Jessie Reyez, Jungle, Arlo Parks and Girl In Red.
£1 from each ticket sale goes to Reverb, an organisation tackling environmental issues in music.

Funnyman Joe Lycett brings his latest tour More More More! How Do You Lycett? How Do You Lycett? to the Apollo for this pair of gigs.

Grime Stories

Newly opened exhibition, co-curated by Grime documentarian Roony ‘Risky’ Keefe, at the Museum of London continues, featuring a collection of newly commissioned films exploring the community at the heart of Grime music, a large scale illustration from artist Willkay and personal artefacts from the performers and producers who developed Grime’s unique sound.

Legendary jazz guitarist Benson promotes his latest album Walking To New Orleans, with this visit to the Albert Hall.
Expect tracks from the record, a tribute to Fats Domino and Chuck Berry, alongside hits from his back catalogue, including Give Me The Night.

The London Clown Festival
The annual London Clown Festival opens with this special opening night cabaret extravaganza hosted by The Establishment double act Dan Lees and Neil Frost, who will be presenting performances from some of the acts featuring in this year’s festival for a high-energy night, giving clowning fans a look at some of the highlights of the season.

The group’s Platinum Anniversary residency at Brixton Academy continues, ending tomorrow, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first-ever gigs.
Famed for albums including This Is Happening and American Dream these shows are the band’s first in the UK for more than four years and their only headline European dates this year.

Being Human Human Being

The Photographer’s Gallery launched Soho Photography Quarter, a new outdoor cultural space, earlier this month in Ramilies Street and Ramilies Place, and the first exhibition, which is free to look at, is currently on display.
Being Human Human Being, by acclaimed Indigenous Australian contemporary artist Dr Christian Thompson AO, includes a 45-metre-long art frieze, cross-street banners, soundscapes and projections.

Tony! (The Tony Blair Rock Opera)
Tony! (The Tony Blair Rock Opera) features an array of famous characters
Comedy genius Harry Hill’s acclaimed musical based on the career highs and lows of former prime minister Tony Blair continues – featuring a huge range of characters, including devoted wife Cherie Blair, troubled royal Princess Diana and US president George W Bush.
Sing along with future classics, including Marco Economics and haunting ballad I Never Done Anything Wrong.
