Former Black Ink Crew star Ceaser Emanuel is being investigated by animal services and local law enforcement following footage of him allegedly abusing dogs.

Emanuel is best known for appearing in the VH1 series, which follows the daily goings-on at a New York tattoo empire, with stars from the worlds of sport and hip hip frequently walking through the door.

He has since been fired from the show after the video of the alleged abuse garnered views online, with the network stating that they ‘have made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel.’

Emanuel – who is the owner and creator of the Black Ink brand – is said to be being investigated by South Fulton PD after the events occurred at his home.

A rep for Fulton County Animal Services told TMZ that there is ‘still time to charge him’ under the statute of limitations, despite Emanuel’s lawyers claiming the viral video was recorded during the Covid lockdown.

The events have sparked outrage from animal rights, with Peta Sr. Vice President Lisa Lange telling the outlet: ‘Animal abusers are often repeat offenders, and this dangerous person must be held accountable and barred from owning any animal.’

Emanuel was taken off his TV show on Thursday, claiming hours later that the behaviour shown in the video doesn’t reflect who he is.

He said it was a ‘moment in time that I wish I could take back’, claiming that he found his dogs ‘attacking each other’ upon arriving home.

Emanuel said he was just trying to separate the canines because ‘they were going for each other’s necks’ and ‘basically trying to kill each other.’

‘One of the dogs attacked me, all I did was open the garage but I was nervous, I’m not gonna tell no lie. I was scared. So, at the end of the day, I was trying to back the dog down,’ he said.

The TV star reckons he has been ‘set up’ with the video (Picture: Instagram)

‘Not one time was I trying to abuse this dog. All I was trying to do was get him back in his cage. The way the video was set up is like, I’m not gonna make no excuses for myself, I should’ve behaved better, but that’s not me, being cruel to animals. I’m not that.

‘What I did was a mistake and that was just it. At the end of the day, what people have to understand, that was a moment, my dog’s are perfectly well. Honestly, I gave one of them to my friend Chris and the other is completely fine. Both of them are completely healthy.’

He added that the two dogs could no longer live with each other because of their fighting, so he put the dog that he kept through disciplinary school.

‘I feel like I’m being set up by somebody. The way I’m being portrayed, that’s just not my character.’

Reps for Ceaser Emanuel have been contacted for comment.
