Janet Jackson has paid a sweet tribute to her late brother Michael on the 13th anniversary of his death.
On June 25, 2009, the world lost the performer frequently referred to as the King of Pop – one of the most prominent figures of 20th-century music.
His sister, legendary singer, actress and fellow member of the Jackson family, Janet, remembered his passing by posting a sweet picture of them on her Instagram account.
It shows a young Michael and Janet standing side by side in front of a window with a skyline view in the background.
The That’s The Way Love Goes songstress accompanied the post with simple white heart emoji, leaving fans emotional.

Over the years, Janet has honored Michael’s memory on many occasions, particularly on social media.
In her much-talked-about documentary that aired earlier this year, the 56-year-old detailed the often complicated relationship between the pair, from childhood leading up to his death.
As kids, she said she and Michael were inseparable, with her being closest to him and brother Randy out of her 10 siblings.
They had a bond, though she revealed it wasn’t always perfect between herself and the 5-time Grammy Award winner – he would occasionally call her names and reference her weight.
‘We were close, Randy, Myself and Mike – we were like the three amigos – the three stooges,’ Janet recalled.
The Poetic Justice actress said she felt a sting when Michael used to make fun of her weight.

‘There were times when Mike used to tease me and call me names,’ the All For You singer said.
‘He would laugh about it and I’d laugh too, but then there was somewhere down inside that it would hurt,’ she confessed, adding, ‘When you have somebody say you’re too heavy, it affects you.’
As they grew up and Michael became world-famous, she recalled their relationship starting to shift.
‘I remember really loving the Thriller album, but for the first time in my life I felt it was different between us, a shift was happening,’ she said.
‘That’s the time Mike and I started going our separate ways. He just wasn’t as fun as he used to be.’
In a memorable segment, she mentioned their Scream duet and revealed Michael’s record company wanted the siblings kept apart during the filming of the music video, which was one of the most expensive music videos ever made, costing $7million to produce.
‘Michael shot nights, I shot days. His record company would block off his set so I couldn’t see what was going on. They didn’t want me on set,’ she revealed.
‘That really hurt me because I felt I was there fighting the fight with him, not to battle him. I wanted it to feel like old times between he and I, and it didn’t. Old times had long passed,’ Janet remarked.
However, Janet shared that she and her brother had a touching final moment the last time she saw him before his death.
‘He was sitting next to me, and he was laughing like crazy and he had that deep laugh and I remember him looking over at me…and the last thing we said to each other was “I love you” and that was the last time I saw him.’
