If Love Island was on all year, we’d be glued to our screens every night. Bye bye, social life.
Fortunately, the hit ITV2 dating show only airs during the summer months, as the singletons enjoy a mid-year getaway to the famous Majorcan villa in pursuit of romance.
We’re currently in the throes of series seven, following the ups-and-downs of fledgling relationships between the likes of Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, and Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack.
This year, the show began on June 6, but when will it all come to an end? And what happens during the final episode?
Here’s all we know so far.
What date could Love Island 2022 end?
Although the exact date is yet to be confirmed by Love Island bosses, it has been reported that the final episode could be on Monday, August 1.

Host Laura Whitmore confirmed in the launch episode that this year’s series would run for eight weeks – which would bring us up to that August date.
Series six, which aired in 2021, also ran for a full eight weeks, beginning on June 28 and ending on August 23.
As for what to expect, the Love Island final usually lasts longer than a standard episode. Last year’s lasted 95 minutes.
The bumper episode typically sees the public cast their vote on four remaining couples, deciding their favourite romance and choosing who they want to win the £50,000 cash prize.
Usually, the winning couple’s villa-born relationship is put to the test, as they each select one of two envelopes – one of which grants the holder the full prize fund.

They must then choose if they want to share the money with their new love, or keep it all to themselves.
Surely, the latter would be extremely awkward for contestants and viewers alike. But to date, nobody has kept all of the cash for themselves after being crowned winner. Phew.
Love Island 2022 continues tonight on ITV2 and the ITV Hub at 9pm.
