Kiss unveil Australian flag while performing in Austria in awkward end to gig-Rachael O'Connor-Entertainment – Metro
We can only hope they’ll fly the Austrian flag for their Australian shows!

Kiss may have been touring the world for almost 50 years, but it seems someone on the team still struggles with their geography.
The iconic rockers, made up of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer, are currently on tour in Europe (that’s Europe, not Australia, just for future reference.)
This week the Black Diamond icons hit Vienna, where they performed in the Wiener Stadthalle in Austria’s capital city.
But while they expertly belted through their incredible back catalogue to around 16,000 ecstatic fans, the night didn’t exactly go off without a hitch.
As the band finished off their set, screens lit up with the phrase: ‘Kiss loves you Vienna,’ with the Kiss logo decorated in the colours of the Australia flag.
Yep – Australia. Not Austria.
Kiss fan Ben Nguyen, who was present at the gig, took to Twitter to share a photo of the awkward mistake, with the artwork featuring the Union Jack and stars that make up the Aussie flag.
Alongside the photo, he wrote simply: ‘Kiss played in Austria last night,’ along with an emoji of an Australian flag.
The tweet has been liked and shared thousands of times in total, but Kiss haven’t responded to the mix-up just yet.
On Friday, the band are heading to Germany where they will play a gig in Stuttgart, before heading to France and then Spain for iconic rock festivals Printemps De Perouges and Rock Fest.

The four-piece are travelling as part of their End Of The Road tour – their final, final farewell tour after their original Farewell Tour from 2000 – 2001.
And while they weren’t anywhere near Australia this time around, the rockers will be heading to the continent in August for multiple shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adeldaide and Brisbane.

(And we expect a commitment to the bit at this point – by flying the Austrian flag at each Aussie show.)
