Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie are continuing their transformation into Barbie and Ken and we are absolutely here for it.

The actors are starring in Greta Gerwig’s take on the iconic Mattel doll for a live-action film that will follow Barbie’s life, love and (various) careers.

There has been a serious buzz around the project since it was first announced, and with each update this buzz just grows and grows.

First we had the absolutely stacked cast, from Will Ferrell to Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa.

Then we were gifted a first look at Margot as Barbie, hanging out in her all-pink Barbie Car outside her all-pink Dream House. And who could forget the chaos when Ryan was pictured in-character for the first time, with his platinum blond hair, double denim and bare chest?

Since then we’ve seen Margot and Ryan hanging out in matching cowboy outfits, Barbie ‘breaking down in tears’, and Margot rollerblading with co-star America Ferrera.

Now fans have been given yet another gift, in the form of Ryan and Margot rollerblading together in iconic, fluorescent matching outfits.

The on-screen couple were seen filming in Venice, California this week, looking very Barbie and Ken with their matching blonde hair and lime-green elbow pads, knee pads and rollerblades.

The pair also wore matching rainbow-coloured visor hats, and where Margot had on a colourful nineties-pattern leotard, Ryan wore the same pattern in a waistcoat and shorts.

In a series of photographs taken from the set, Ryan and Margot can be seen rolling along Venice beach, grinning and laughing with each other as they remain in character.

They absolutely looked the part in the brightly-coloured outfits, with fans pointing out that they must have been modeled after Hot Skatin’ Barbie, released by Mattel in 1994.

Other photos taken from the set see Ryan and Margot sitting on the back of a vehicle as they’re driven away, Margot wrapped in a thin beige robe.

(Decidedly not a Barbie look, so we’re guessing it was between takes.)

As with previous snaps of the pair walking down the street in matching cowboy hats, Barbie and Ken appear to be the only characters dressed like, well, Barbie and Ken, with people in the background of the set looking quite normal.

Official portraits of the pair, released earlier this month, see them hanging out at Barbie’s all-pink dream house, with Margot in her all-pink car – but perhaps it’s not a Barbie World after all in this upcoming film.

As well as Margot, Ryan, America, Ncuti and Will, Barbie boasts a stellar cast made of Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon, Marvel superhero Simu Liu and more.

Some of the cast were spotted enjoying a night out in London earlier this month, with Margot seen beaming as she watched a Magic Mike Show in the capital’s West End.

Margot was reportedly joined by Greta, Ncuti and others for the night out, which ended at a club in nearby Soho.

As exciting as it all is, fans will still have to wait just a bit longer to see Ken and Barbie in action, with a release date set for July 21, 2023.
