In a bid to save some cash this bride-to-be decided to do things a bit differently and bought her bridesmaid’s dresses from H&M, rather than an expensive boutique.

What’s even better is since the dresses were in the clearance section of the store they were even cheaper than she expected.

Jamie McClure explained: “I am only having two bridesmaids and rather than have them pay £200 for a dress they will never wear again, I’m doing this!”

She managed to bag two chic dresses for $8.99 (£7.42), which were reduced from $14.99 (£12.37) in H&M.

‘UNHINGED’

I’m a bride & prepared for weeks for wedding – I threw it all away DAYS before

Jamie still wanted to spruce the bargain dresses up a bit before the big day, so went fabric shopping to try and find something that would work well with the design.

“Pearls are a big theme in my wedding,” she explained showing the delicate, sheer fabric that she found that was dotted with small pearls.

Luckily, the fabric was also in the clearance section of the store, which meant the she was able to save even more money.

Jamie layered the sheer fabric on top of the dresses for a more expensive look.

She said: “I took it and sewed a little cover for the dress, I’m really loving the look.”

“I’m also going to sew pearls all across the straps,” she added.

People loved the savvy idea, one said: “Creative way to DIY and save money, I bought my bridesmaid’s their dresses, I wish I was this thrifty.”

Another said: “What an amazing way to get the exact look you want at your wedding, love it!”

A third wrote: “So much better than just the plain dress, good choice!”
