The first photo of a PSVR2 being used by a developer has appeared online, with a tease that Ultrawings is coming to the headset.

The PlayStation VR2 is the only thing Sony has spoken about in detail recently, and yet we still don’t really know that much about it.

To be fair, though, VR is a difficult thing to demonstrate unless you’re actually using it yourself, and Sony did try their best with the State of Play at the beginning of the month.

There weren’t many games announced but now we can be pretty sure that a new Ultrawings flight simulator will be one of them, as developer Bit Planet Games has been showing off that they’ve already got one – before realising they probably weren’t meant to reveal that fact and deleting the image.

Of course, the internet had already saved a copy but, really, it doesn’t reveal anything other than it looks pretty much identical to the images Sony was showing off before.

Sony don’t seem to be too angry about the leak, given Bit Planet Games’ fairly relaxed reaction to their mistake, as they followed up the reveal with a tweet saying, ‘Guess what’s coming to PSVR2?’ Which can only really be a reference to Ultrawings.

The headset isn’t being used in the photo but if Bit Planet Games has one that implies that probably a lot of other developers do as well. Although the fact that the wires are still tied up and have apparently never been used implies they only just got it.

Sony hasn’t officially announced a release date for the headset but the recently announced new Walking Dead game seemed to imply it would be out in 2023.

Considering how much Sony is already focusing on it, and how quiet they’ve been about everything else recently, that seems pretty believable, even if it ends up being towards the end of next year.
