Game of Thrones star Lena Headey is being sued by her former agency for $1.5million (£1.2million) over her scrapped role in Thor: Love and Thunder, it has been claimed.
Troika, which changed its name to YMU in 2020, claims that Headey owes them at least $500,000 of the money she earned from the new Marvel movie.
According to Variety, Headey, 48, was eventually cut from the film and will not appear, but YMU believe that they are entitled to the equivalent of 7% of the commission fee she received for her work.
In addition, the talent agency are also reportedly aiming to secure $300,000 (£249,000) over her work in Gigi Gaston’s movie, 9 Bullets, from earlier this year.
On top of that, YMU are apparently claiming that they are entitled to an extra $650,000 (£541,000) for the star’s stint for unaired Showtime series Rita, which didn’t secure a series order.
Headey was set to appear as the titular character in the adaption of the original Danish series, but only shot a pilot episode.

According to court documents, Troika/YMU and Headey joined together in 2005, after her personal representative Michael Duff joined the company.
However, Duff eventually left Troika/YMU in early 2020 and Headey also departed from the company in May of the same year.

Troika/YMU claim that, under the terms of the agreement signed with Headey, the actress owes the agency commission fees from a number of projects.
Her defence claims that she never signed any such contract with Troika/YMU or with Duff, and that any agreement made was verbal.
They also alleged that the arrangement was made when Duff worked for his previous agency, Lou Carl Associates, in the late 1990s.

Court filings applied on Headey’s behalf mention that Troika/YMU was never her sole representative, as she was also represented by US agency CAA.
Headey’s defence specifically disputes that Troika/YMU has any claim to the commission she received for the new Thor movie and that she only became involved upon direct approach from director Taika Waititi.
