Former Towie star James Argent has announced that he is launching a nationwide tour of caravan parks.

The 34-year-old, who has shown an interest in becoming a crooner since he appeared on the ITV2 reality series over 10 years ago, will be showing off his vocal skills around the country over the summer.

Announcing his new move, he said: ‘It’s James ‘Arg’ Argent, and this summer we are going to have it Arg. Can’t wait to see you all and have a night to remember!’

The tour will kick off tonight (01.07.22) at Sand le Mere caravan park near Hull before moving on to other Park Holiday resorts.

On Thursday night, the reality star looked confident as he showed off his slim new physique while performing at Olivia’s La Cala in Mijas, Spain.

James sang for guests and posed for pictures with several after his performance.

Arg, who has battled with alcohol and drugs, has been on a mission to turn his life around.

He has recently lost 14st and looks almost unrecognisable following life-saving gastric band surgery.

James, who recently celebrated a year since he underwent the operation, also recently revealed that he is embarking on a potentially  ‘exciting’ new romance.

The star was part of the original Towie line-up in 2010 and had romances with Lydia Bright and Gemma Collins.

He said during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine on Tuesday: ‘I did meet someone nice…

‘I’ve met a woman in Mykonos. It wasn’t a holiday romance or anything like that.

The former Towie star told ITV’s Lorraine on Tuesday that his only regret was not having got a gastric band sooner (Picture: ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

‘We exchanged numbers, We have been speaking, she’s not English, she lives abroad. Who knows [what will happen]. It’s exciting anyway.’

James also told host Lorraine Kelly of his gastric operation: ‘Initially, when you get the operation done, it’s a bit of a shock to the system.

‘You go from binge-eating, and over-eating to all of a sudden you’re only on liquids and a minimal amount of food and it’s just kind of getting your mind right.

James recently took to Instagram to post a snap of him in the hospital after his gastric bypass surgery to celebrate the one-year anniversary (Picture: Instagram)

‘But as the weight drops down, you start feeling healthier and I promise you now it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

‘And if anyone says to me, “Have you got any regrets?”, the only regret is I didn’t get it sooner.

It has worked for me and it wasn’t a quick fix. I struggled with my weight for many, many years with lots of diets and for me, it has just worked.’

James’ lifestyle change came following a near-fatal overdose on Christmas Day in 2019, after which he sought help to beat his drug and alcohol issues.

However after being sober for two years, in March 2022 James suffered a relapse which led to paramedics being called to his home.
