Stranger Things has seen some 80s bangers returning to the top of the charts thanks to season 4 – volume 2 of which was released today – July 1.

With Max finding safety in Kate Bush’s 1985 classic ‘Running Up That Hill’, many younger fans have discovered the song for the first time and have fallen in love.

The tune was released in 1985 to great acclaim, but has been number 1 in the UK charts for a whole week and has given the pop star her first top single in the US.

So how do you get the special Stranger Things playlist?

How do you activate the Vecna playlist?

Thankfully, Spotify has made accessing the playlist a fairly simple task.

The Stranger Things team posted a tweet teasing the feature, asking fans: ‘wanna know what would save YOU from Vecna?’

Like you would normally, hit the ‘search’ button (or magnifying glass) at the bottom of your app to get the search bar.

From there, type the words ‘Upside Down’ and you will see a number of options, including Diana Ross’ famous 1980 hit and a version by Paloma Faith.

Select the top option labelled ‘Upside Down Playlist’ from the list, which features a shot of Max from the show running in the Upside Down.

As you will discover, the music streaming platform has compiled your personal favourite tunes to listen to. If that doesn’t take your fancy, Netflix has compiled a playlist of season 4’s tunes – featuring some pretty cool easter eggs.

If you select a song, a pop-up of Vecna himself should appear on your Android or desktop and the progress bar will light up like a torch, taking listeners on a journey through the Upside Down.

So get listening and save yourself from Vecna!
