Brenda Edwards has revealed she will have to sit out some performances on the Chicago tour after suffering an unfortunate injury.
The Loose Women star, 53, revealed she fractured her leg after slipping over in the street ahead of a matinee performance of Chicago in Blackpool.
Sharing a photo of her bandaged leg, she told her followers: ‘I’m absolutely gutted that I will not be able to do my 2 shows today @chicagoonstage @wgbpl after slipping on a dodgy wet pavement here in Blackpool and fracturing my fibula.
‘Trust me when I say I was ready to go on in a wheelchair to do my shows today, as there is nothing wrong with my voice but obviously for insurance reasons I can’t.’
She added: ‘I’m hoping when I get back home later I can get it sorted to rejoin the wonderful talented cast at some point next week in Sheffield. Love you guys.’
Brenda had been drafted in to take over the role of Mama Morton from Gemma Collins at the last minute, after the former Towie star had to pull out due to an injury.

Gemma, 41, had been due to take on the role of the iconic prison matron but was left in tears after having to pull out just days before the tour began when an old injury from her time on Dancing On Ice in 2019 flared up.
She had shared a photo of her swollen leg, as an insider added to The Sun: ‘Gemma is absolutely gutted she’s had to pull out of Chicago. She has been in floods of tears and is inconsolable.
‘Gemma realised her knee wouldn’t stand up to the gruelling schedule She had a bad fall on Dancing On Ice and an injury to her knee then started to flare up, as it has done before from time to time.’
It’s not the first time Brenda has starred in Chicago as she also took part in the musical in 2006, just months after she appeared on the X Factor.
She revealed on Loose Women at the time: ‘I got a phone call from the producer that afternoon to ask if I would reprise the role, it was my first role out of X Factor in 2006 and I was in it until 2008-9. So I’ve been asked to go back.’
