Love Island’s most shocking Casa Amor moments ever: From Michael Griffiths calling Amber Gill ‘childish’ to Amy Hart declaring her love for Curtis Pritchard-Meghna Amin-Entertainment – Metro
Who remembers all this drama?

The most explosive week of Love Island is returning to our screens in a matter of hours, and to say we’re excited would be an understatement.
That’s right, it’s time for Casa Amor.
The surprising-but-not-so-surprising twist tests the romances between our favourite islanders as they’re split up and tested with a new batch of sexy singletons.
Will Gemma Owen stay faithful to Luca Bish? Or will Tasha Ghouri be tempted to stray from Andrew Le Page?
Casa Amor lasts for around three to four days, just long enough for heads to be turned and for the infamous postcard to be sent to the main villa, which always sets off some drama.
Contestants are then asked whether they want to stick with their original partner, or couple up with one of the new singletons, leading to heartbreak, tears and rows bigger than the two Ekin-Su Culculoglu has already set off.
Let’s take a look back at some of the most shocking Casa Amor moments in Love Island history…
Dani Dyer reduced to tears after Jack Fincham’s ex-girlfriend enters Casa Amor – 2018
2018 Islanders Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham may have won the series, but it wasn’t an easy ride.
In fact, it was one of Love Island’s most distressing moments viewers have been subjected to, so it’s no surprise it sparked 2,525 Ofcom complaints.
This uncharacteristically cruel moment came when Dani was shown misleading footage of Jack reacting to his ex-girlfriend Ellie walking through the doors of Casa Amor, causing viewers to accuse the show of emotionally manipulating her.
While he may have said ‘Oh my God’ quite a few times, nothing actually happened, and Dani and Jack did actually remain faithful to each other, enjoying an emotional reunion a few days later, and ending up winners of the series, walking away with their shares of £50,000.
Shaughna Phillips’ iconic ‘congrats hun’ after being pied by Callum Jones – 2020
The first-ever Winter Love Island brought with it some of the most scandalous Casa Amor moments, including the time Callum Jones pied Shaughna Phillips only to receive one of the best comeback lines ever.
Shaughna became an overnight icon on the programme after being dumped by Callum, who’d had his priorities changed by spending time with Molly Smith in Casa Amor.
But rather than doing the standard thing and bursting into tears after hearing the news, Shaughna hit back immediately with an unforgettable response.
‘I’m happy for Callum. I should have never trusted a scaffolder anyway. Congrats hun,’ she said, instantly becoming the real winner of the 2020 series in our eyes.
Callum cracked on with Molly, leaving Shaughna heartbroken as she planted him with her now-iconic quote: ‘Congrats, hun’ (Picture: ITV)
Later, in a chat with Metro.co.uk, Shaughna confessed she didn’t anticipate how big those two little words would become, joking she should be ‘copywriting’ the phrase after it was splashed across T-shirts and tote bags.
‘I don’t even know where the, “Congrats, hun” came from,’ she told us.
‘There’s like a very, very dramatic calls between both [the words], and I was just going to say “Congrats”…
‘And then something was just like, “Be petty, be petty”, and then I said “hun”, only because it just came into my mind.’
Georgia Steel’s ‘I’m loyal babes’ after Josh Denzel wasn’t so loyal – 2018
Another iconic quote that came out of a Casa Amor revelation was Georgia Steel’s ‘I’m loyal babes,’ after Josh Denzel walked in and showed he hadn’t been so loyal, having coupled up with Kaz Crossley.
To the disappointment of viewers, Georgia was left heartbroken upon his return, when he decided to dump her, even though she handled it like a pro… until later in the episode.
She later unleashed her wrath, when, as Josh tried to approach her, she remarked: ‘Don’t even touch me, man!’
Michael Griffiths leaves ‘childish’ Amber Gill heartbroken as he instantly becomes a meme – 2019
The Georgia-Josh situation repeated itself all over again when Michael Griffiths recoupled with Joanna Chimonides, leaving Amber Gill on her own.
The pair then went on to have a few explosive rows, with one turning Michael into a meme overnight as he branded her ‘childish’.

It wasn’t just Michael and Amber’s faces that were worth watching, though as the horrified reactions from the likes of Maura Higgins and Anna Vakili were priceless.
In the end, though, Amber needn’t have worried so much, as she ended up winning the show as a couple with Greg O’Shea. Swings and roundabouts, we guess.
Lillie Haynes tells Millie Court the truth about Liam Reardon’s Casa Amor antics – 2021
Speaking of winners… last year’s crowned couple had their fair share of Casa Amor drama, as Liam Reardon returned to Millie Court single, but Lillie Haynes spilt the truth when the time came.
When Liam returned single from Casa Amor, Millie was ecstatic to be reunited with him before Lillie entered the villa, revealing that not only had she shared a connection with Liam, but they had kissed outside of challenges.
Millie was left distraught over the revelation, as Liam tried to convince her that he is committed to her.
Things to even more dramatic when Millie and Lillie met separately, and Lillie got the chance to tell her side of the story.

To the surprise of viewers though, Millie chose to stay with Liam and they actually ended up winning the show.
Faye Winter lashes out at Teddy sparking a record number of complaints to Ofcom – 2021
Perhaps the most dramatic moment of last year’s season was Faye Winter’s explosive row with Teddy Soares, after she recoupled in Casa Amor because she witnessed a misleading postcard.
Faye was fuming after receiving the postcard, which saw Teddy kissing one of the Casa Amor bombshells
What she didn’t know is that Teddy had stayed loyal throughout, only kissing one of the new girls for a game.
Not long later, the islander exploded after a clip was played to the contestants of Teddy telling Clarisse Juliette he is attracted to her while in Casa Amor.

In the video, he told Clarisse he is ‘technically single’ during a flirty exchange and the pair were also shown kissing during the afore mentioned challenge.
After the footage was played, Faye expressed her outrage about what she had seen, later telling him: ‘I know my worth and for me, this is done.’
Viewers were left uneasy and shaken, with many saying ITV shouldn’t have broadcast the scenes and Faye later apologised for her behaviour.

Television watchdog Ofcom confirmed that a staggering 24,763 people complained after the scenes at hand aired.
Ofcom also confirmed it received 4,330 complaints after Faye and Teddy were left on the rocks thanks to the the Casa Amor postcard, with the majority of those complaining saying it ‘was misleading and caused unnecessary distress.’
Amy Hart declares her love for Curtis Pritchard, only to be left heartbroken – 2019
Things were looking rosy for Amy Hart and Curtis Pritchard during their stay in the villa back in 2019, even though he preferred to make the whole villa their morning coffee over sharing some morning snuggles in bed with Amy.
They then split in one of the most-quoted moments in the programme’s history.
Despite seeming to develop a real affinity for one another on the show, Curtis threw a spanner in the works after meeting Jourdan Riane in Casa Amor.
Little did he know, though, that Amy had been planning to tell Curtis that she loved him upon his return.

Like a horror film, viewers watched between their fingers as Curtis dropped the bombshell, leading Amy to tell him: ‘I was coming here to tell you that I loved you.’
We don’t think there’s been a more uncomfortable moment since – well, apart from Curtis’ stand-up and then his Hollyoaks cameo.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
