90 Day Fiancé star Paul Staehle has come forward after both he and his son Pierre were reported missing.

Ever since appearing on the American reality series, Staehle, 33, has reportedly experienced a tumultuous relationship with wife Karine Martins, 26.

And early last month, Paul and the couple’s son, Pierre, were both reported missing by Louisville Metro Police in Kentucky, US.

However, earlier this week, TMZ reported that Paul and Pierre were on their way home and that the entire situation had been a ‘big misunderstanding’.

‘[Paul] is aware he and his three-year-old have officially been reported as [missing] in Louisville,’ TMZ reported.

‘[Paul] denies he’s kidnapped and fled with his own kid, saying they were simply on a long work trip together dating back to early June, and that Pierre is safe’.

TMZ also reported that Pierre’s ‘separation anxiety’ was being Paul’s reasoning for taking his son with him on the work trip last month.

Karine has also published a statement through Instagram, explaining that she is ‘doing well’ and that she would be providing further updates soon.

90 Day Fiancé began in 2014 and follows couples who have applied for a K-1 visa, which requires the applicant to marry within 90 days of entering the United States.

Each episode follows the couples as they search for houses and employment, as well as arranging their wedding days, all within 90 days.

Paul and Karine tied the knot on the TLC series in November 2017 and appeared destined for a happy future together, but things took a turn for the worst soon after.

In 2019, Karine revealed to Us Weekly magazine that she was planning to divorce Paul and was actively looking for a lawyer for her case.

And last year, a video surfaced online, which apparently showed Karine behaving in an abusive manner towards Paul.

The pair have been locked in a lengthy legal battle over custody of their two children, Pierre and younger brother Ethan, who is 16 months old.

According to People magazine, Child Protective Services currently have custody of Ethan, who had been staying with Paul’s mother until recently.
