Former Disney star Adam Hicks has been released from prison on parole after serving time behind bars following a conviction for second-degree robbery.

Hicks, 29, was arrested in 2018 for armed robbery alongside his girlfriend, actress Danni Tamburro.

The couple had allegedly robbed and attempted to rob several victims in a matter of minutes on the streets in Burbank of money and goods while pointing a gun at them. This reportedly included two women in their 70s.

In July 2021, Hicks was sentenced to five years in state prison, while Tamburro was given three years on probation.

However, according to TMZ, Hicks was released in March after a judge credited him for the 1,460 days he served while awaiting sentencing.

Last year, The Sun reported that he was charged on five counts, two for robbery and three for attempted robbery.

After two of the attempted counts were dismissed ahead of sentencing, Hicks pleaded not guilty to one count robbery and one count attempted, which were both then dismissed.

For the one remaining count of robbery, Hicks pleaded no contest and was convicted.

Hicks is best known for his starring role as Luther on the Disney XD series Zeke and Luther, as well as season three of sitcom Pair of Kings.

His sentencing also came three months after the 10th anniversary of Disney Channel musical movie Lemonade Mouth, in which he acted opposite Bridgit Mendler, Aladdin star Naomi Scott, Blake Michael and Hayley Kiyoko as part of a band.

He also starred as Diesel in Hulu’s horror series Freakish, from 2016 to 2017, and in the 2018 comedy, Shifting Gears.

Hicks was previously arrested twice in LA in 2017.

On the first occasion, he shot himself in the leg while hanging out with friends, which he told police officers was accidental but was described as ‘very uncooperative’ by court documents.

The second time, in September 2017, his girlfriend Tamburro told police that Hicks had pulled her by the hair, pinned her against a car and shoved her to the ground.

Both cases were dropped ahead of prosecution, with insufficient evidence cited the first time and Tamburro’s refusal to cooperate the second time.
