Kyle Richards joked that her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars were ‘praying to get Covid’ so that they could miss the brutal season 11 reunion.

The 53-year-old is currently starring on series 12 of RHOBH alongside Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne Girardi, Sutton Stracke, Dorit Kemsley, Garcelle Beauvais and newcomer Diana Jenkins.

Her sister, Kathy Hilton, has returned as a ‘friend of’ for the episodes, with Sheree Zampino also joining the fold.

Lifting the lid on how tough it is to live life in front of a camera, the Halloween Kills actress explained that the reunions feel like a ‘boxing match’ but they ‘have to’ go through with them.

‘We have to. We sign up for this. You’ve got to carry it out until the very end,’ she told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby during an appearance on This Morning.

‘For all of us, just the night before, the amount of stress, the amount of excuses – I think some were praying to get Covid or something so they don’t have to show up,’ she laughed.

‘I treat it like a boxing match. I’m going into the ring, so I will have a massage, I will go to bed early, I literally have to meditate – anything I can to get myself through that day.

‘Because we are on a sofa for maybe 12, 13 hours…

‘[It’s] awkward, you don’t know who you’re sitting next to when you first get there. There’s people you don’t want to sit next to, people you aren’t speaking to, or by the end of the reunion you won’t be.’

Kyle also offered a glimpse into the inner workings of the Housewives, insisting that none of the drama is ‘set up or scripted’, and that cameras will be running for four months – before the cast spend the rest of the year promoting the show or enjoying their well-deserved time off.

The reality star was part of the original line-up of the Bravo show when it first aired, in 2010, beside sister Kim Richards and her former best friend, Lisa Vanderpump.

She is the last OG from Beverly Hills but suggested that she is preparing to bow out of the franchise.

In a recent interview, she was questioned on whether she will return for another stint after season 12 ends, and admitted: ‘I always say, “I don’t know,” and each season I think, “Well maybe I can do one more.”

‘Sometimes I’m just like, “How can I keep doing this?” especially when I get really upset, like this last season when we ended.

‘I was like, “There’s absolutely no way. I’m done. I’m finished. I want to live my life in peace. I can’t take this.”

‘Then the reunion comes and I’m like, no I really am done. Goodbye, over and out.’

‘I don’t know,’ Kyle added to E! News. ‘I just take it day by day.’

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 airs on Bravo in the US, with episodes dropping the same day on hayu in the UK.
