Canada’s Drag Race star Rita Baga will present season one of Drag Race Belgique.

Last year, superstar Priyanka was crowned winner of the competition, with Rita Baga – real name Jean-François Guevremont – and Scarlett BoBo finishing in second place.

Drag Race Belgique is a new French-speaking edition of the hugely successful Emmy-award-winning reality franchise and will feature Belgian drag queens serving some serious looks in a variety of challenges and runway categories.

Based on their performances in the challenges and their creations on the runway, the judges will ultimately choose who will be crowned the champion.

Speaking about her exciting new gig, Rita enthused: ‘The Belgian drag scene is wonderful and I feel privileged to contribute to make it shine.

‘From the beginning of my career, I wanted to democratise the art of drag and
make this wonderful, magical universe accessible to everyone. To see that today, I can continue this mission beyond borders, it is the most beautiful thing that there is.

‘It’s a dream come true! And now, may the best drag queen win!’

Drag Race Belgium hasn’t been given an official premiere date, however, it is believed the first season will drop next year on WOW Presents Plus for countries outside Belgium.

TV judge and drag queen RuPaul Charles and Tom Campbell will again be executive producing the show, along with World of Wonder founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato.

Following her stint on Drag Race, Rita featured on the Quebec version of Celebrity Big Brother, but was evicted on day 29 and finished in 12th place.
