Love Island viewers blast Jacques O’Neill for ‘acting like the victim’ as he claims he ‘won’t let’ Paige Thorne ‘forgive’ his Casa Amor antics-Emily Bashforth-Entertainment – Metro

It wouldn’t be Casa Amor without fireworks now, would it? And Love Island viewers reckon Jacques O’Neill thinks he’s in a rom com.

In one of the most dramatic recouplings of the series so far, the Islanders were well and truly tested but, ultimately, Jacques chose to stick with Paige Thorne after the pair developed a strong connection.

They shared a kiss and cuddle upon reuniting at the fire-pit, after Paige also decided to stick with Jacques, but the romantic bliss didn’t last long as she soon learnt of he’d been playing away.

Jacques shared kisses with bombshells Mollie and Cheyenne while Paige was away, getting to know the new boys as friends, leaving her in floods of tears when the truth was revealed.

The couple had an explosive row, and Friday night’s teaser suggests emotions are set to run high once more.

In a deep chat with Luca Bish – who remained loyal to Gemma Owen – the fishmonger tells him that Paige ‘will forgive’ him, before the camera cuts to Jacques, who also has tears rolling down his cheeks.

‘I won’t let her forgive me,’ he states dramatically, with viewers likening his comment to a line from a film.

Viewers also seem to be Team Paige all the way, branding Jacques a ‘walking red flag’ for ‘acting like the victim’ by getting upset, when he was the one who played away.

Others called him a ‘master manipulator’ after he commented that he didn’t see a point in him being in the villa anymore.

‘I want him OUT’, one viewer tweeted, while another one wrote that ‘Paige has the power’ because he will have to ‘do some serious digging to get out of the s**t’.

‘”I won’t let her forgive me *cries*” Jacques reminds me of my ex loooooool babes is about to play victim so differently. Paige baby go get your hot girl summer, you’re SO much better off’, tweeted another.

But it wasn’t just viewers championing Paige and calling out Jacques behaviour, as former Islanders also chimed in, with the likes of Faye Winter urging Paige to ‘see through’ her man.

‘Jacques, the only boots I want you to put on, hun, is your f*****g walking boots to get home. Don’t even bother. Let the girl go,’ she told her Instagram Story.

Meanwhile, Liberty Poole wrote that Paige ‘deserves 100 times better’ after watching the drama unfold in shock, while Shaughna Phillips tweeted: ‘Paige there is only one way to settle this, and it’s violence’.
