Twin Peaks star Lenny von Dohlen has died aged 63, it has been confirmed.
The star was best known for his role as Harold Smith in the David Lynch series, as well as his film performance as architect Miles Harding in Electric Dreams.
Announcing the sad news yesterday, his sister Catherine Von Dohlen wrote on social media: ‘The world lost a magnificent man on July 5.
‘Brother Len was passionate about everything and everyone.
‘He was always leading; whether it be riveting conversation, an artistic creation or a trip to new places. He loved a good laugh.
‘He continues on his spiritual journey.
‘Living life full in his memory.’

Von Dohlen played a much-loved role in the early 1990s TV series Twin Peaks, and later reprised his role in the prequel movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, released in 1992.
Before appearing on Twin Peaks, von Dohlen starred in the 1983 Oscar-winning movie Tender Mercies, which also featured Robert Duval.

He then went on to appear in Electric Dreams in 1984 and Dracula’s Widow in 1987, and more recently featured in Home Alone 3 as Burton Jernigan in 1997.
Von Dohlen’s first television role was in NBC’s Emmy-award winning Kent State, before he went on to star in Twin Peaks.
After that, he appeared in shows including Miami Vice, Picket Fences, and Walker: Texas Ranger.
