But when the underwire decided to poke though and job you in the ribs, it’s so much worse.

TikTok user itsjenwarnes recently shared a clip to help others that struggle with the underwire on their bras breaking through the fabric.

She said: “This used to happen to me all the time, to the point where I even have a scar on one of my boobs where the wire would just boke it constantly and it cut the skin.

Jen decided to find out why this happens to even the good quality bras and what we can all do to avoid it happening.

You’re wearing the wrong band size

The first reason Jen discovered had to do with simply wearing bras with bands that are too big.

She said: “When you’re wearing a band size that is too big it moves around a lot on your body, that causes a lot of friction.

“That’s going to wear down the bra quicker causing that wire to poke out.”

You’re washing your bra wrong

Apparently you’re not meant to chuck your bras in the tumble dryer – who knew?

Jen explained: “You’re supposed to hand wash your bras, I don’t know who has time for that, I definitely don’t.

“Instead what I do is put them on a cold, delicate cycle to wash them.

“When they come out just hang them over a rack to dry them instead of putting them in the dryer to help them last a little bit longer.”

Another viewer added: “How you put the bra on can also cause the bra to wear out and contribute to the underwire stabbing out.”
