To quote the great Beyonce, ‘Baby, I swear it’s déjà vu’ as Love Island 2022 is welcoming a blast from the past.

Adam Collard is returning to the villa for a second shot at love – and fans cannot believe it.

Adam joining the series creates a multiverse of Love Island madness, but when was he originally on the show and why is he considered an ‘ultimate bombshell’?

Here is everything you need to know.

When was Adam Collard on Love Island?

Adam first appeared on Love Island in series 4, which aired in 2018.

He was one of the original contestants entering that year, along with the likes of Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, who would go on to win the series.

What happened when Adam Collard was on Love Island?

Adam’s time on the show made headlines – sometimes for the wrong reasons.

His most notable romance in the villa was with Zara McDermott, and the pair even continued dating outside of the show for a while.

Zara, who is now dating Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, had a shocked reaction to seeing her ex enter the villa for a second shot.

Zara may have been his most prominent relationship, but she was not the only contestant Adam had flings with on the show.

He initially set his sights on Kendall Knight, but then quickly dumped her for Welsh contestant Rosie Williams.

After Rosie, he went on to couple up with Zara McDermott, before recoupling once again after the drama of Casa Amor, walking back in with Darylle Sargeant.

Adam and Darylle were dumped from the villa on July 5, with Adam lasting 32 days on the show and vowing to go back to win Zara.

He and Zara ended up getting back together outside of the series, their relationship lasted for around eight months.

Adam’s time on the show was mired in some controversy after charity Women’s Aid warned about the signs of ’emotional abuse’ after Adam and Rosie got into heated rows.

Ahead of scenes of his return, they have once again issued a warning to women facing emotionally abusive relationships.

In a statement to Metro.co.uk, Teresa Parker, head of communications and media relations, said: ‘In the 2018 series of Love Island, we saw Rosie rightly call out Adam for his unacceptable behaviour, which included gaslighting and emotional abuse.

‘We hope that ITV recognise how serious this issue is and that it must be learned from, considering they have asked Adam to return to the show.’

‘Producers must make sure there is support for contestants throughout, and intervene if relationships become unhealthy or abusive.’

ITV has an extensive list of duty of care protocols, while a welfare team is also solely dedicated to the Islanders both during the show and after.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2
