Adam Collard has been in the Love Island villa for five minutes and he’s already ‘ruffled a few feathers’ just like he promised.

The 26-year-old personal trainer made a name for himself in series four of the hit dating show, and in an unexpected twist, Adam has been given a second chance at finding love in this year’s instalment.

During Monday’s episode, Adam wasted no time in getting to know Danica Taylor, Paige Thorne, Gemma Owen, Tasha Ghouri and reigning queen of chaos Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

While some fans are convinced Adam has the girls hypnotised with his chiselled physique, Metro.co.uk’s Love Island body language expert Judi James thinks Adam is using a different tactic to better his chances.

‘So, Adam turned up to disrupt the villa but it wasn’t his abs and his pecs he was using as tools of destruction, it was the Jedi mind games he was playing on the girls.

‘Adam dripped poison by hinting to each one what people outside think of their relationships. He also did so while using some classic flirt signals like eye contact and head tilts (basic stuff, it’s what puppies do that make them so adorable), but apart from that he barely raised a sweat.’

While Adam was getting to know the girls, Ekin-Su seized the chance to give Adam a ‘tour’ of the villa, and Judi believes Adam’s delay in approaching her sent her into ‘panic mode’

She continued: ‘Ekin-Su did try to listen to Paige do her squealing and body-shimmering report back, but it was clear her eyes were fixed on Adam, who she must believe has been sent into the villa as her new plot line. Ekin-Su actually needs Adam more than the others in there.

‘While Paige, Tasha and Indiyah [Polack] have won camera time with all their boomerang dramas, Ekin-Su has been relegated to the role of villa ‘Mummy’ with very little if any of her body language with Davide Sanclimenti being shown.

‘She is the soap plot queen and her line that Adam would have to prove himself to win her sounded like she believed that was his sole intention in there.’

Amid Adam’s explosive return, Women’s Aid has issued a warning to ITV following the bombshell’s stint in the villa in 2018.

Teresa Parker, head of communications and media relations, said: ‘In the 2018 series of Love Island, we saw Rosie rightly call out Adam for his unacceptable behaviour, which included gaslighting and emotional abuse.

‘We hope that ITV recognise how serious this issue is and that it must be learned from, considering they have asked Adam to return to the show.’

Parker added: ‘Love Island is watched by many young people and we know what a huge influence it has.

‘Producers must make sure there is support for contestants throughout, and intervene if relationships become unhealthy or abusive.’
