Ana De Armas has admitted the pressure other high-profile relationship with Ben Affleck contributed to her decision to leave Los Angeles.

The Blade Runner 2049 actress lived in the US city for seven years, during which time she became involved with Batman star Ben.

Ben and Ana met on the set of their film Deep Water, where they played a couple, and instantly hit it off, going public with their relationship in March 2020.

The Gone Girl actor had recently gotten divorced from ex Jennifer Garner, and there was intense publicity on his new relationship with Ana – similar to the massive interest in his former relationship with now-fiancée Jennifer Lopez.

In a new interview with Elle Magazine, for which she is the cover star of the August issue, Ana opened up on the pressures of the relationship, admitting it was ‘horrible.’

However she now sees the difficult time as a good thing, saying it was ‘one of the reasons why I left LA.’

During her time in the City of Angels, she had seen other stars’ lives be tracked intensely by paparazzi and splashed across the media.

‘Going through it [myself] confirmed my thoughts about, “This is not the place for me to be,”‘ she said.

‘It became a little bit too much. There’s no escape. There’s no way out.’

She described Los Angeles as ‘a city that keeps you anxious,’ explaining there was ‘always the feeling of something you don’t have, something missing.’

Ana decided to move away from the celeb-filled city though returns often, thanks to the nature of her job.

The Knives Out star is set to play Marilyn Monroe in new biopic Blonde, its director promising the film will ‘offend everyone.’

Ben and Ana went their separate ways in January 2021, with the split believed to have been amicable and the decision mutual.

Ana has since moved on with Tinder executive Paul Boukadakis, and the pair have been snapped – by paparazzi – cuddled up together while Ana was on a visit to LA.

Famously, Ben then reunited with former flame JLo: the couple, affectionately dubbed Bennifer back in the day, broke up shortly before they were due to be married in 2004 because of the intense nature of their own high-profile relationship.

Now the couple are planning to head up the aisle once again, with Jen recently sharing that her reunion with Ben is ‘the best time of my life.’

Sharing a video montage of her face for Father’s Day, she said: ‘I love my career but nothing is more fulfilling to me than being able to build a family with someone I love deeply and who is just as dedicated to family and to each other as we can be.

‘I feel incredibly blessed’.

Ben, 49, has three children, who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer – Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.

Meanwhile, Jen has her twins, Emme and Maximillian, 14, who she shares with Marc Anthony.

In February, Jennifer revealed that their relationship was different this time around, telling People: ‘We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things.

The August issue of Elle Magazine hits newsstands on July 26.
