Paige Thorne’s loved ones have urged fans to ‘be kind’ after she remained in the villa following Jacques O’Neill’s dramatic exit from Love Island.

Paige and Jacques coupled up earlier on in the series, after the rugby ace entered the villa as a bombshell.

Their relationship seemed to be going well, until Jacques’ head well and truly turned, during his stint at Casa Amor

Despite returning to the villa alone, Cheyenne Kerr revealed the pair connected, leaving Paige heartbroken.

After a rough few days, Jacques decided to leave the villa on Tuesday night, in very emotional scenes.

But after some fans on social media criticised Paige for not exiting alongside Jacques, her family have weighed in on the latest drama.

Posting on her social media accounts, Paige’s nearest and dearest wrote: ‘Little note that #BeKind applies to Paige too.

‘If she decides to leave the villa, that is her own decision, and she has no obligation to follow Jacques – this is her experience just as much as his.

They went on to add: ‘There is only 2.5 weeks left of her once in a lifetime experience, let’s not see her come out to negativity.’

Jacques promised Paige he would wait for her ‘on the outside’ and revealed his desires to become her boyfriend.

He tearfully told her he hadn’t felt like he could be himself, while urging her to stay on and continue her journey in the villa.

But will Paige remain focused on Jacques or forge a new romance elsewhere?
