Sex Education star Tanya Reynolds has confirmed she is not returning for series four of the hit Netflix programme, but admitted she’ll miss her fellow cast members.
Tanya, who plays Lily Iglehart, is departing the cast after three seasons, following the likes of Patricia Allison (who stars as Ola Nyman) and Bridgerton actress Simone Ashley (who plays Olivia Hanan).
Confirming the news to Metro.co.uk, when asked if she was returning for season four, Tanya admitted: ‘I’m not, sadly.’
‘I will miss the gang a lot,’ she added, ‘but onwards!’
Tanya is now starring alongside Melissa Saint in an upcoming Channel 4 sitcom, I Hate You, which sees the pair play best friends in their 20s, navigating an intense, complicated, and sometimes bizarre, world.
Tanya joined Sex Education in the first series, playing a Moordale High student who tries to lose her virginity in season one and then starts dating Ola in season two.

Along the way, Lily explores writing her own erotica fiction and roleplays as her own characters in simply iconic outfits.
Speaking about her own departure from the show earlier this month, Patricia revealed that she won’t be joining the cast for the latest instalment of the coming-of-age drama.

‘I absolutely have loved being on Sex Education so so much, and playing Ola but unfortunately, I won’t be joining the team for season four,’ the 27-year-old explained.

‘Some other opportunities have come up. So, I’ve been doing it for three years and I’ve like genuinely loved it,’ she added.
But Patricia admitted it was ‘absolutely’ a hard decision to make and said sometimes you have to say goodbye to projects that you love to move forwards.
Sex Education series one to three are available to watch on Netflix and I Hate You arrives on Channel 4 later this year.
