The day after Jacques O’Neill’s exit from Love Island, the islanders are in for a party in the latest episode, with the arrival of singing popstar Becky Hill.

The news of Becky’s performance was announced earlier this week, with fans expressing their excitement on Twitter over her upcoming entrance.

While the contestants such as Gemma Owen, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Luca Bish may still be reeling from Jacques unexpected departure, their spirits will undoubtedly be raised by the singer’s surprise show.

Who is Becky Hill and how old is she?

Becky, born Rebecca Claire Hill in Bewdley, England, is 28 years old.

Her singing career first took off when she was a teenager, when she received recognition and support from BBC Introducing with her band Shaking Trees.

However, her big break could stem back to her appearance on The Voice UK 10 years ago, when she competed on the first season of the competition in 2012 when it was still on BBC.

After performing the classic John Legend track Ordinary People, which was co-written and co-produced by will.i.am, Jessie J and the Black Eyed Peas rapper both turned around for her.

She ended up choosing to go in Jessie’s team, making it to the semi-finals before she was eliminated.

While she didn’t win the series, her career has continued to go from strength to strength, scoring a number one with her 2014 song Gecko (Overdrive), by Dutch DJ and producer Oliver Heldens.

This year has also seen her achieve some incredible career highlights, earning two Brit Award nominations.

She won the accolade for best dance act at the award ceremony, while her song Remember with David Guetta received a nod for best British single, losing to Adele’s Easy On Me.

Is Becky in a relationship?

In January this year, Becky announced that she was engaged to her longtime partner Charlie Gardner, writing on Instagram: ‘Turns out he actually does like me.’

In April last year, Becky opened up about her sexuality on Twitter, writing: ‘Ok here it goes.. I’m not 100% on this (still figuring myself out) but I think I’m queer!

‘I’ve definitely felt uncomfortable branding myself as straight, or anything else for that matter, but queer seems to be the most fitting identity for who I am.’
