The Duchess of Cornwall enjoyed touching noses with an adorable puppy, alongside the likes of Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, as she hosted an event at Clarence House on Thursday.
Marking the 160th anniversary of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, the royal residence welcomed celebrities and cute creatures alike to celebrate the achievements of the long-standing animal rescue charity.
Camilla, whose own pet Jack Russell terriers were adorably draped in pearls for the front pages of Country Life’s current issue, was spotted chatting to bestselling children’s author Jacqueline Wilson, Amanda and Paul O’Grady – a long-time Battersea supporter and known dog lover – as they enjoyed the sunshine in the gardens.
Wearing a floral-patterned dress, she was seen greeting Amanda with a kiss on the cheek.
She then got down to the serious business of meeting some of the VIPs (very important puppies), scratching little rascal Flora behind the ears before enjoying a little nose boop with the curious pup.
It was a move Amanda – dressed fashionably as always in a neutral summer dress with splashes of yellow and matching heels – echoed as she shared pictures of the event to her Instagram a short while later.

Smiling as she touched noses and tenderly held the paw of the same puppy, the radio host looked utterly relaxed.
She also shared a selfie with her pal Paul, dapper in a dark suit and striped shirt as they matched in sunglasses on the warm afternoon.

She joked in the caption: Lady and The tramp! !…You work it out 😂,’ before tagging Battersea’s handle and that of Paul and his ITV series, For the Love of Dogs, which is filmed at the famous shelter.

Amanda also posted the same two pictures to her stories, adding ‘I’m in love’ as the caption to the one featuring her new furry friend and joking ‘New detective series imminent’ on the one of her with Paul in their shades.
